Preparation

  • Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into coins. Lay the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 2 hours or until solid.
  • Transfer the frozen banana slices to a blender. Add lemon juice, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
  • If desired, add vanilla extract, coconut milk, or cocoa powder. Blend again until fully incorporated.
  • Pour the blended mixture into a freezer-safe container and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Freeze the sorbet mixture for an additional 1-2 hours until firm.

Serving

  • Remove the sorbet from the freezer and let it sit for a few minutes to soften slightly. Scoop into bowls and serve immediately.
