Equipment

  • 1 baking sheet greased
  • 1 mixing bowl large
  • 1 skillet

Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Creamy Sun-Dried Tomato Sauce

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil chopped

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. Form the mixture into small meatballs and place them on a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and slightly golden.
  • While the meatballs are baking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in chicken broth and sun-dried tomatoes, and let simmer for a few minutes.
  • Stir in heavy cream and basil. Allow the sauce to simmer until it thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add the baked meatballs to the skillet with the sauce. Let them simmer in the sauce for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Serving

  • Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with additional basil if desired. Pair with pasta or crusty bread for a complete meal.

Storage

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave before serving.

Notes

Pro Tips: Use freshly ground turkey for the best texture. Don't overmix the meatball ingredients to ensure they stay tender. Ingredient Substitutions: Use ground chicken instead of turkey for a different flavor. Greek yogurt can substitute heavy cream for a lighter sauce. How to Serve: Serve with pasta, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the sauce. Storage & Freshness: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Make-Ahead Tips: Prepare the meatballs and sauce separately a day in advance and combine when ready to serve.
