Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch sheet pan greased and floured
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 mixing bowl large

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk

Toppings

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 2 cups whipped cream or frosting of choice

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch sheet pan and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a separate large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, approximately 3 minutes.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared sheet pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Decorating

  • Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before frosting.
  • Spread a layer of whipped cream or frosting over the cooled cake, smoothing it into an even layer.
  • Decorate the cake with blueberries in the top left corner and alternating rows of strawberries and raspberries to create stripes. Adjust the patterns as needed to fit your cake size.

Serving and Storage

  • Slice the cake into squares and serve chilled or at room temperature. Perfect for summer gatherings!
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Best enjoyed fresh!
