Equipment

  • 1 skillet large
  • 1 mixing bowl

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 can black beans drained and rinsed

Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 avocado sliced

Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned. Drain excess fat and stir in taco seasoning. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Prepare rice according to package instructions if not using pre-cooked rice. Fluff with a fork and set aside.

Assemble the Taco Bowls

  • Divide cooked rice into bowls. Top each with a portion of the ground beef, followed by black beans.
  • Garnish each bowl with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and avocado slices. Feel free to add additional toppings like salsa or jalapeños.

Serving

  • Serve the taco bowls while warm. Allow everyone to customize their bowl with their preferred toppings. Enjoy with a side of tortilla chips if desired.

Storage

  • If you have any leftovers, store the components separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat the beef and rice before serving.
