Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl medium
  • 1 grill
  • 8 Skewers soaked if wooden

Ingredients

Chicken and Marinade

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp chili flakes

Optional Vegetables

  • 1 red bell pepper cut into chunks
  • 1 red onion cut into chunks

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine honey, olive oil, minced garlic, soy sauce, and chili flakes. Whisk until well blended.
  • Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for best results.
  • If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes. Thread the marinated chicken onto the skewers, alternating with chunks of red bell pepper and onion if desired.

Grilling

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, about 400°F.
  • Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char.

Serving and Storage

  • Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy them hot with your favorite sides.
  • Store leftover skewers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on the grill or in a skillet before serving.

Notes

Ingredient Substitutions: Use paprika instead of chili flakes for a milder version. Substitute soy sauce with tamari for gluten-free.
How to Serve: Best served with sides like coleslaw or rice.
Storage & Freshness: Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Make-Ahead Tips: Prepare the marinade and chicken a day in advance to save time on grilling day.
