Equipment

  • 1 skillet large
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to ensure crispiness. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until well blended.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs skin-side down and cook until the skin is golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Flip the chicken thighs and pour the honey garlic sauce over them. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the skillet, and let the chicken simmer for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  • Uncover the skillet and increase the heat slightly to thicken the sauce, turning the chicken occasionally to coat evenly, for about 5 minutes.

Serving

  • Transfer the chicken thighs to a serving plate. Drizzle with the remaining sauce from the skillet. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired.

Storage

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
