Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the chicken strips with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the heavy cream, chicken broth, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir to combine and let simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, allowing it to soak in the flavors of the sauce. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and incorporated.

Assembly

  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce and chicken, tossing to combine. If needed, add reserved pasta water to reach desired sauce consistency.
  • Stir in fresh parsley and basil, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dish. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper, if necessary.

Serving

  • Transfer the pasta to serving plates and garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs, as desired. Serve immediately.

Storage

  • Place any leftovers in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove, adding a splash of cream if needed to restore the sauce's consistency.
