Equipment

  • 1 baking sheet large
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 oven

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds brussels sprouts trimmed and halved
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup pecans roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Rinse brussels sprouts, trim ends, and cut in half. Pat dry with paper towels.
  • In a large mixing bowl, toss brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper until well coated.
  • Spread brussels sprouts on a large baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until tender and lightly browned.
  • Remove baking sheet from oven. Drizzle maple syrup over the brussels sprouts and sprinkle with chopped pecans. Stir gently to coat.
  • Return to oven and roast for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the pecans to toast slightly.

Serving

  • Transfer brussels sprouts to a serving dish. Serve warm, garnished with extra pecans if desired.

Storage

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.

Notes

Pro Tips: Choose fresh brussels sprouts for optimal flavor. Use pure maple syrup for the best results. Ensure even roasting by arranging sprouts in a single layer.
Ingredient Substitutions: Use walnuts instead of pecans for a different nutty flavor. Agave syrup can replace maple syrup for a vegan option.
How to Serve: Serve as a side dish with roasted meats or vegetarian main courses.
Storage & Freshness: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Make-Ahead Tips: Prep brussels sprouts and chop pecans in advance to save time.
